What is the purpose of the project?The goal of the project is to highlight the diverse experiences of individuals within the Hispanic and Latino community, showcasing their resilience, cultural heritage, and contributions to society. Funds raised from the sale of the photo book will support scholarships for Latino students pursuing higher education.

02. Who can participate in the project?The project is open to individuals who identify as part of the Hispanic or Latino community of all ages. Participants should be willing to share their story and be photographed for inclusion in the project. Minors: please ensure you have the permission of your parents!

03. What does the participation involve?Participants will take part in an interview and a portrait session, where their story of resilience and cultural identity will be captured. The interviews and photos will contribute to the photo book and exhibition.

04. How are the portraits taken?Portraits will be taken in a variety of locations to reflect the uniqueness of each individual. The location is determined by the participant - a location that inspires, motivates you and allows you to be your authentic self. Each session will be personalized to ensure it truly represents the participant's identity.

05. What happens during the interview?The interview focuses on capturing both external and internal strength. Participants will be asked questions about their background, cultural identity, family legacy, and personal experiences. These interviews will be woven into the narratives of the photo book.

06. Is there a cost to participate in the project?Participation in the project is free of charge. However, there will be an opportunity for participants to purchase a copy of the final photo book or exhibition prints at a discounted price.

07. How will my story be shared?Your interview and portrait will be included in the final photo book, and potentially featured in an exhibition. Your story will be shared in a way that honors your experiences and cultural pride.

08. Will my personal information be shared?We value your privacy and will only share information you are comfortable with. All personal data will be handled with care, and participants will be asked to sign a release form that outlines how images and story will be used. Images will not be used for social media and are stored on a external hard drive.

09. What if I’m camera-shy or nervous about participating?The photo sessions are designed to be relaxed and fun. Bonnie aims to create a comfortable environment where participants can feel seen and valued. If you have concerns, feel free to discuss them beforehand.

10. Where will the project be displayed or published?The project will culminate in a published photo book, and there are plans for exhibitions to share the work with broader audiences to raise awareness and support for educational equity.

11. How do I sign up to participate?There will be a registration process that includes scheduling your portrait session and interview. You can sign up: 1. 12. How can I support the project if I’m not participating?You can support the project: Attend exhibitions to help raise awareness. Purchase a copy of the photo book, which will be dedicated to a scholarship fund for Hispanic/Latinos pursuing certificates, associates, or bachelor's degrees. Help spread the word through social media and word of mouth, helping the project capture 3,000 portraits and stories. Donate your time to assist with creating social media outreach. Assist with the setup and breakdown of exhibitions. Donate to purchase exhibit supplies, such as stands and 20x30 frames and they will be labeled with donor's name. Contribute to the printing of photographs for the exhibits.

13. When will the final photo book be available?The project will culminate upon completing 3,000 portraits and stories. The goal is to complete the project by July 2027 and celebrate the completion of the book for Hispanic Heritage Month. Updates will be provided to participants and supporters as the book progresses toward publication on this website under Proyecto/Project Info pages.
